Alliance Pukeuri found itself in a difficult situation when its rendering building condemned as a potential earthquake risk. The old rendering plant was key to Alliance generating enough hot water on site for its meat processing.  How might the plant be able to find a way of generating enough hot water for its needs?

Liquid Dynamics was approached to help solve the problem. It would be necessary to come up with an innovative solution and at the same time, minimise downtime that would compromise the plants ongoing operations.

Once again Liquid Dynamics came up with an innovative and cost-effective solution. They built a skid-mounted hot water preheat system. Two plate heat exchangers effectively heat 60m3 per hour from 10ºC to 65ºC using steam from the plant’s own boilers.

The solution was delivered at lightning speed. From the decision to proceed to Alliance being able to turn on the tap to plentiful hot water took just six short weeks.  The time required was slashed by Liquid Dynamics building a highly automated system in the workshop and then installing on site.

The customer couldn’t have been happier. The solution was delivered in full, on time and within budget. Processing downtime was kept to an absolute minimum, despite the challenges in getting the new system installed.
